I love SL 6.2's boot-up and shutdown animations
-
How is it? Any screenshot, Pak?

For me, one disadvantage of !scientificlinux over !centos is lack of mirror for yum, especially on !indonesia.
-
Given its timely releases, hopefully in time that would change. There's always the choice of setting up a private mirror
-
-
Failed to install !scientificlinux 6.0 to ISCSI target, but has success on 6.2. Might be applied to !redhat and !centos

@christianabryant you bought your #RHEL? I am still considering it... I am curious how much they differ

Setting up !scilinux and #kvm on a new server I got. !fedora 15 is the first VM I'm creating on it for the test.

@fontana already have been playing around with !scilinux ... If dagwieers moved away I am convinced they have some major issues

@rahulsundaram have been in the dark about #CentOS... waiting for v6.
-
@gbraad You should consider moving to SL. It isn't quite the same thing (SL does deviate in some ways) but it should serve the purpose
-
@rahulsundaram I'm even consider getting #RHEL instead.

If i want to stay with gnome2, what is my longest choice? !Ubuntu LTS, or debian6, or! scientificlinux
about a year ago from web-
@jbeatty yes i noticed. It is a candidate.
-
@robertahilljr no. Thats why sl is in the list. Perhaps centos6 too. How long is !scientificlinux update support?
-
Anyone used both !centos and !scientificlinux in the past? The latter is already tracking !RedHat RHEL 6.0. Does SL welcome external devs?
-
@fontana As in "RHEL is a lot of closed patches around Fedora". Not saying that's true, but that's what he means IMO.
