Hello !thinkpad... Just wanted to report that the x230 works great with Fedora. Only unsupported thing is the fingerprint reader (147e:2020)

New keyboard's going to take some getting used to, though. And the 3G card BIOS whitelist is a real pain.

@eightyeight Which is possible to do even while the system is running, but I rarely ever bother. Technology should know when to charge.

@samatjain Things using ath5k & ath9k are good choices, and some ath9k do 802.11a/b/g/n.

@jxself I'm a huge fan of atheros, ath5k works out of the box and are a good replacement for madwifi

Considering backtracking to when !Slackware worked with suspend. On my !Thinkpad T40P that was 13.1. On X32... dunno.

Only tool missing on my new !Slackware !Thinkpad is !Inkscape. Building the deps with !Slackbuilds takes a bloody long time, though...

Hard drive upgrade successful! Seagate Momentus 7200.4 (500 GB) works perfectly fine out of the box on my !Thinkpad R61.

@rw I find quite a few very affordable T60s and T61s, and I suspect that is what I'll get. I love the design of the X60, but it's SO small.

@mjjzf Have you any experience with T60s running hot? Are T61s a better bet? Is a T42 too slow for a linux system?

@rw I don't know them. I have used a T40P up until now. With a gig of RAM and a 1.6GHz Pentium M, it will handle everything not source-based
