          @ralesk I have a five year Lenovo !ThinkPad battery that is humming along. Only gets one hour out of a full charge though.

              @samatjain Things using ath5k & ath9k are good choices, and some ath9k do 802.11a/b/g/n.

              @samatjain As @stumbles points out ThinkPads often have anti-feature to make changing WiFi difficult. Reason #2710 why free BIOS important.

                        @rw I find quite a few very affordable T60s and T61s, and I suspect that is what I'll get. I love the design of the X60, but it's SO small.

                        @rw I don't know them. I have used a T40P up until now. With a gig of RAM and a 1.6GHz Pentium M, it will handle everything not source-based
