Soo, we are approaching !Gnome 3.8 and the top bar is still so ridiculously high... Why is that? Why cant it be like !Unity? Minimalistic...

I found a way without using an addon: Move everything to the main toolbar, remove the navigation toolbar, done. I recommend Classic Compact.

I have it installed on 5 machines and it's used every day. I love the free space only with the minimalistic top bar.

I use home, applications and files lenses and I love them, but I delete other lenses, not because they are bad, actually I don't need them

running !ubuntu 13.04 daily build for over 5 hours, no issue so far(except that i had to install wifi driver manually) unity runs way faster
