The good news: I'm running !XBMC on a full !freesoftware stack on !Debian, accelerated 3D gfx included. The bad: it's unusably slow. :)

Seems that more and more dvd’s don’t want to play on my #htpc w/ !xbmc. :/

Handbrake reports that this particular dvd had 99 titles on it… May have something to do with it not playing.

@jpope I now have xbmc working w/HDhomerun. Had to use Windows to do channel scan & copy channel info to linux box. Works better than mythtv

I think that my #HTPC is getting upgraded tonight. Moving it to !arch + !xbmc.

@x1101 because it will need to run flash, and flash over X forward is dogshit slow on my network.

@jezra ok, fair enough. Just trying to help out. And isn't flash dogshit slow everywhere?

@x1101 it is the responsiveness that is terribly slow on X forwarded flash. Give it a test with grooveshark.

@coredumb Do your plugins all work properly, w/out dbus, hal and that "Gnome crap"? Built it w/out udev as well, to ditch policy/consolekit.

@onedot w/out dbus only thing i saw not working is shutdown/reboot, hence my patch. Udev here doesn't have polkit stuff

@onedot BTW i only use TV shows and moviesDB scrappers and it works fine. Haven't seen prbolems so far.
