Really I'm ok to keep things from the 80's. But it seems it's more important to refuse things from the 2010's to them. Sad story.

Sure. But the current policy is to refuse anything useful, not to remove old useless cruft and organize thing correctly. So it's pointless.

@ryuslash It would be easier if packages were reviewed, maintained and integrated into Emacs trunk rather than put on the side in ELPA.

GNU ELPA is one of the worst idea of !Emacs. It's like a having a bouncer at the Emacs front door always saying: "Nop. Try ELPA".
