Whatever your thoughts on !GNOME Shell at this point in its devel, remember that the improved panel in GNOME 3.0 (fallback mode) is AWESOME.

Canonical notably omitted #Linux and !GNOME, but NO upstream projects were mentioned in the !Ubuntu 11.04 presser. NONE. http://goo.gl/geroW

@gotunandan That's why I said to add the Indicator (not "Complete") Applet and Indicator Session Applet. Then add the Clock applet.

@gvs @bkuhn Perhaps at some point, yeah. It would need yet another blog post... :-)

Both #Canonical and !GNOME have releases to ship. I can help set the record straight without real developer time being wasted. :-) !Ubuntu

  13. Jeff Waugh Jeff Waugh GNOME

@gvs @bkuhn When you simply "derive", you're not really making an attempt to understand !GNOME's quite complicated relationship with #Mono.

Tuesday, 15-Mar-11 04:27:32 UTC from web in context
  14. Jeff Waugh Jeff Waugh GNOME

@bkuhn @gvs Basically, when someone raises Mono as a problem, and that it's a problem for !GNOME, you know they're smoking something. :-)

  15. Jeff Waugh Jeff Waugh GNOME

@bkuhn @gvs !GNOME has no fundamental dependency on Mono. Only Tomboy. The project doesn't encourage it nor accept Mono stuff without query.

@aseigo Had a good chat with @jospoortvliet about the fd.o side of things, btw. I hope to also convince you this wasn't a !GNOME cockup. :-)
