I understand what it's capable of - all I said is that it isn't designed for single user installs. A stripped down ver would be near perfect

Which I think is a good thing, just that StatusNet is might be overkill for someone who wants to use it as a single user.

Ah, no I mean the opposite -- StatusNet is designed for multiple users on one install, but you can just use it as a single user.
