@go2n to disable the #gtk frontend you must remove/rename the file /etc/xdg/autostart/wicd-tray.desktop !wicd !kde.

@bigbrovar I use the !kde !wicd client. Works fine on !archlinux. I disabled the gtk frontend to have only one icon on trail.
