@pete >I'm using archlinux now! I'm happy! ;)< That's what the world wants to read from everybody day - we should create ! #archlovers ;)

  4. mmi99 mmi99 Arch Linux

"tried !archlinux today and i'm happy" - or similar is not interesting the whole world. keep quality! personal replies could be without "!"

  5. mmi99 mmi99 XFCE

worrying about window positions in nearly all wm's: never saw a way to force remember last win position of an app! would be great in !xfce

  6. mmi99 mmi99 Arch Linux , XFCE

Just upgraded 3 xfce libs from !archlinux: libxfce4ui, ...4gui, ...4util - now !xfce starts very very slow :(

  7. mmi99 mmi99 flatpooks

    ♺ @flatpooks: "it's an xorg problem" --> thanks, so it's best to wait for a while ...

@archgt welcome in my boat ;)

  9. mmi99 mmi99 Arch Linux , XFCE

After latest upgrade of !xfce 4.8 in !archlinux user shutdown doesn't work anymore, it behaves like a logout.

  10. mmi99 mmi99 Arch Linux , XFCE

My #ext4 partitions are remounted with commit=0 but should hold fstab settings. pmutils->journal-commit is the reason. !xfce !archlinux

  11. mmi99 mmi99 Arch Linux

converted ext2 to ext4, but forgot the recommended -j for journal creation first. "tune2fs -l" says has_journal, seems to be ok. !archlinux

  12. mmi99 mmi99 mrs. stench

@lstench there are "shotwell" and "f-spot" for photo management in gnome

  13. mmi99 mmi99 Linux kernel

"acpi_skip_timer_override" fixes the ugly idles during bootup and in console on GigabyteMB/PhenomX4/ATI5750 - glad i've found it now !kernel

  14. mmi99 mmi99 Nathan Thomas

@nathant I think, in openbox u can do that manually. Nice would be an automatic remembering, let's say for the last 50 (most used) apps.

  15. mmi99 mmi99 Nathan Thomas

@nathant IMO yes - it needs a file to store app name and users window coords. Starting an app, #xfwm uses it's coords primary if found.

  16. mmi99 mmi99 Nathan Thomas

@nathant "...drag the slider to large" I have that - but an option where #xfce remembers my own placement would be better ;)

  17. mmi99 mmi99 Azlan

@azzorcist some msecs faster or slower - it doesn't matter;) it's late now have to leave-cu!

about a year ago from heybuddy at Germany in context
  18. mmi99 mmi99 Azlan

@azzorcist ... that's the more efficient way IMO.

  19. mmi99 mmi99 Azlan

@azzorcist I appreciate the "kiss" way in archlinux. The Debian way (used it for a long time) isn't bad, but i prefer developers originals.

  20. mmi99 mmi99 Arch Linux

We often hear !archlinux is (very) fast. Nope! Most of other distris are unnecessarily overloaded and run slow(er). They could be as fast ;)
