@sblaydes Good having you at NTLUG. Hope you all come again.
-
@ecorrado Ubuntu upgrades are designed to be easy. YMMV with any change though. Poke around the forums. For most, not a problem.

Recommendations for a Nikon D40 new user?
-
@marjoleink using susestudio is actually pretty friendly. You can even test drive the result. But I think I understand.
-
@thafreak PV the whole drive and use LVM.
-
@rysiek Actually there's no need avoid crackers. They are a light snack and go well with soup (I'm an oldie...so hacker is still correct)
-
@marjoleink Not sure about the standard openSUSE offereings, but via http://susestudio.com you could always create a live cd with pwgen

@jasonbrooks I think you meant to say "adding !gnu to !gnu !linux". We'll overlook it just this one time.
-
@eek Try dmidecode. You can also install hwinfo if you like. lshw is also good and popular with Ubuntu fans.
-
@pookito Cowon D2 DOES NOT do Theora. I have yet to find a PMP that does (outside of MIDs or things modified to run something else).

@viperchief rms uses wget, etc. because character based browsers are not much fun and require a lot of resources on his 10 yr old laptop :)
-
@rrh A wiki i/f to graphviz (flowcharts?) via PmWiki maybe? http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/PmGraphViz

@remu Sorry about the delay. AGP card. If you want decent 3D, and don't mind used/cheap, Nv 6600GT
-
@jasonbrooks Linux violates Microsoft's patents on the following OS features: Reliability, Scalability, Security and Flexibility. :)
-
@remu I'd think the 5200 might be an issue. No problem with P4. I'd get a mid-tier card. New Nvidia's will have vdpau support, not ready.
-
@techwizrd shame video support got obliterated by the baddies for HTML 5... sigh...
