@lukas Did you do a dist-upgrade from Hardy? In the past I always had trouble with the LTS releases, but 10.04 finally seems to work for me.

Just upgraded my netbook to Lucid Lynx beta 1. Have found a few minor bugs, but overall it looks promising.
