@tonykatz Agreed. My take is that is largely due to the "open source" nature of the project. Ever see good looking OS projects? ;)

WTF? I can't get to Laconi.ca using Safari? It reports an error saying the site doesn't exist. But it works fine with Firefox.

@christinelu There's a link at the bottom of this page, "Source" with info on downloading it but the download link leads nowhere.

@christinelu Yep. You (or your techie) can install it on your servers. This is IF you can find the source code...? I can no find so far.

This service seems to be holding up pretty well today with the flood of new accounts. I REALLY want an "@" button and Replies feature tho!

@iwparker Life is great in Hawaii. I found out about identi.ca via mention on my FriendFeed river and am spreading the word via Twitter also

@joecascio Agree on the OpenID support. Nice. But identi.ca will def want to implement "replies" ASAP in order to be as useful as Twitter.
