@joshix One of my reasons for considering #NFSv4 is WAN security and performance - #CIFS is pretty bad there.

@joshix If I deploy #NFSv4 it will be with #Kerberos. Admin overhead is a concern but this tutorial makes it seem doable: http://j.mp/ngRHdz

@joshix For Windows clients, I guess I'll have to keep #CIFS alongside #NFSv4 - but then you might ask, why deploy NFSv4 at all ?

@joshix Does your opinion of #CIFS's superiority over #NFS extend to #NFSv4 ? I find NFSv4 tempting on paper for small network usage.

I was able to track down _half_ my problem with #NFSv4 and #Kerberos ... but the kernel does not crash in the VM :(

@psyq123 #NFSv4 will help, but then you'll need to deal with authentication (typically Kerberos 5), which adds complexity.

!linux when mounting via #nfsv4 the /proc/self/exe #symlink has a (deleted) appended to it on the first call but calls after that.
