@evan can't you guys forbid new users to post a message to 2 or more groups at once for some time, to reduce spam messages?

@intosi congrats
-
@mcg that's not that what @eightyeight and I talked about
-
@eightyeight @bluszcz ideally 1 IRC node in a net would play the gateway and connect to other IRC nodes and via S2S to other XMPP servers
-
@eightyeight yeah...however sadly most OSS projects are still on freenode
-
@eightyeight i think having such XMPP MUC feature is more of a community feature than an actual implementation problem
-
@eightyeight why that?
-
@eightyeight sure...however implementing it in an IRCd and not seeing it used at freenode or some other larger network would be kind of sad
-
@eightyeight those interfaces exist for years. the other way around would be more efficient and irc folks could also ban spammers better
-
@eightyeight knowing that !freenode staff would be interested in such feature would sure get some people up implementing it
-
@eightyeight nope. i don't think any of them has that feature and since !freenode is running their own i'd best be added there
