@stav This is true. What I was referring to was lobbying for more legislation rather than repealing the legislation already in effect.

@dread I think the conflict we're having is use of "choice". I'm using it as the selection. You're using it as the product being selected.

@dread This is not always true. Quality: A = B * 2; B = C * 2; Price: A = B * 5; B = C * 2. The most cost effective buy would be B there.

@dread Intended term of use just another factor in consumer decision. All I'm saying is that these things are far more complex than binary.

@stav Yeah, I don't mind beliefs until govt. is lobbied to point the gun at me. I don't mind being an outcast as long as I can live my life.

@dread I'm just saying that people may reasonably choose cheaper Chinese products because price is a major factor alongside quality.

@dread And on that note, all that matters is the selection; not the object. Suppliers don't make money off objects, but off sales.

@dread Yes, but the more profitable is also the better choice. I never said it was based solely on cost. I said cost is a major factor.

@dread "Better" is subjective; "right" is fantasy. Every investment has a cost. There is no inherently right choice; only most profitable.

@dread That's too simple a model. If the buyer doesn't need the highest quality and/or cannot afford it, then price is one main focus.

@dread Well, that depends on several factors. Lower cost is definitely a huge selling factor.

@stav So what? If the competitor offers the same quality at lower cost, then the inventor should invest in innovation or marketing.

@stav If they're supplying the demand and consumers buy their products instead of the Euro/US ones, then what's the problem?

@stav What protects innovations on patented inventions? Reward comes from supplying demand. Monopoly over an innovation is not progressive.
