Node.js Ditches CLA

Bradley M. Kuhn at

People on IRC were giving me credit for the fact that Node.js is no longer requiring a CLA, as of today.

I can't take any credit for this, AFAIK. I told a Node.js contributor once why CLAs are bad in great detail, but I don't think that trickled-up to Joyent somehow.

But, it's great news!

Someone on Twitter said (in connection with the Joyent news) that 'CLAs were the EULAs of [open source software]'. This is a very perceptive statement.

You preferring they'd use Apache License v2 is for the patent clause?

Since. the FSF doesn't use CLAs. then someone needs to update the Wikipedia CLA page.
