What Republic has ever been established with the consent of the old regime? Not the US, not France, not Haiti, not Italy, not any that I know of. The Catalan people are supposed to wait for Rajoy's royalist-Francoist government to consent?
Well, the majority of the Catalan people has not actually said they want that Republic.
In part because the fascist PP government didn't allow them to vote properly (police brutality included), but still...
