Set up your test suite early in your project, kids. And if you've got a REPL, while you're hacking and validating that things are working right, why not use it to extend your suite?

And when you're doing it in Scheme, it's so easy to just take the manual tests you just ran and put them in the suite.
Don't go into full test framework yak shaving though. Just pick something that works.
