Yeah, you're probably seeing the plaintext version of the mail. The HTML version of the notification is more verbose, with links to both the author of the comment, the comment, and the original post. I think there's an open issue about that in the bugtracker.

I recommend posting directly to the note because otherwise (you'll see), people won't see all replies, and it gets confusing.

Re: microblogging, I wouldn't call a system which allows pages-long posts with tables, bold, italics, images, etc, "microblogging", but if it fits your definition, fine by me :)

I just think it doesn't properly define what Pump.io is.
