"Open Knowledge Foundation" is becoming "Open Knowledge" and getting a new logo.

I only skimmed that text, but seems like they're emphasizing data data data even more more more.

I prefer to root for the Free Culture Foundation (which curiously enough, also had a rebranding, being formerly Students for Free Culture)

I guess the students graduated.

I had an opinion about the new logo, but when I went to see their example sheets of banners and mechandise, it tried to load PDFs in Google Docs, and I can't see it because I won't allow the Javascript there. Now I have a non-opinion.

Data data data!

Oh, just saw that about the Free Culture Foundation, and Blaise's comment about them graduating piqued my interest. I am a little pissed. Despite being "college-aged", I was excluded from events thrown by the Students for Free Culture because I wasn't enrolled. I just gave it a pass, but now they aren't leaving it to students to run, it makes me think they could have been more inclusive.

I don't really care, and they were students after all, so presumedly they were busy becoming junior members of society while attending classes, but this is a lesson in how signalling can exclude folks.
