"We are students that have taken over Taiwan's Legislature. Almost half a million have joined us in support. AMA!" http://redd.it/21xsaz

Mike Linksvayer shared this.

The tech activists have been facilitating (and I don't use this word lightly) the current student movement in Taiwan in earnest. Much remains to be reported and analyzed about the roles of the techies/geeks in making new disclosures in Taiwan. The "First Year of g0v.tw" (yes, that is a zer0 not a oh) at http://g0v.asia/tw/ is an excellent summary. But that is last year. Since March 18 this year when the students started to occupy legislature (they still do), the work of the g0v.tw collective has been simply amazing. Not only is the revolution streamed live in multiple channels (see http://stlive.maxorz.com/ ; more links from http://g0v.today/ ), the students will now also answer your questions on Reddit!

For background about the current movement, as always, please consult Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunflower_Movement .
