@csolisr External drives in modern desktop environments are not managed through fstab. Udisks2 is used instead. Take a look at udisks-glue

@csolisr Then it has to wait for the data to be effectively written to drive. U can change this mounting drive with "sync" option.

@csolisr beware of caches ;-) This can be a normal behaviour. It burst until fs cache is filed.
