@nybill Your instance is reporting that your domain is 'localhost' for your user id. Might want to fix. http://ur1.ca/885id

I'm getting stuck by trying to use #nginx with #php. (setting up one as well currently)

  3. Daniel E. Renfer Daniel E. Renfer emacs

It's always so jarring when I hit tab and !emacs *doesn't* put the line in the perfect spot. Damn languages with loose syntax rules.

  4. Daniel E. Renfer Daniel E. Renfer Ubuntu users

I'm surprised that metapackages like xubuntu-desktop are considered "technical items" by !ubuntu software center.

  5. Daniel E. Renfer Daniel E. Renfer Máirín

Next step, Apple will be able to remove software from my computer that doesn't match their policy/

I just got it set up that I can connect to my #emacs over #ssh using #cygwin and X11 forwarding. Now I don't need to reboot to work.

You can get a similar effect if you use #ecb. This is a nice minimal solution. Wish it was in #elpa though.

I love that #apt never asks me if I want to also clutter up my browser with a toolbar I'd never use. #ubuntu

I feel sorry for the existing Call of Duty MW3 players (of which I am not) during the free weekend. #eternalseptember

Why can't I design a box online containing only the good chocolates? C'mon long tail.

The only real issue I see with that is support for URI templates. JSON-LD would work for user-meta, but not really the host-meta.

  13. Daniel E. Renfer Daniel E. Renfer Java , Daniel E. Renfer

I'm already a #Clojure programmer, so I have that covered. I'm asking about the dirty Java language bits.

  14. Daniel E. Renfer Daniel E. Renfer Java

I need to bone up on my !Java. What's the one thing I should know, but probably don't?

The more implementations the better! Go for it.

Is a group (in the sense of #activitystreams / #statusnet) an Agent (in the sense of #Foaf)? It shares some properties, but can it act?

  17. Daniel E. Renfer Daniel E. Renfer

I realized I hadn't felt really dumb in a long time, so I'm watching a MIT lecture on Godel, Escher, Bach

Which client would you include? XMPP clients are very much a matter of taste.

As someone who had to write said parser for #Webfinger, I feet your pain. Would you suggest RDF/XML in it place?

#webfinger is just a means to an end. Get your link to the foaf/atom document and don't look back
