I use Identi.ca as a service and I think that a service should be usefull and user-friendly, especially in this era and in this places where you can found whatever and else and a parallel world of "alternatives"! So, for this kind of non-vital services or not work-obligated ones, I give them a very first contact judgement because I won't to spend a lot of my time in the learning curve. With Pump.io wasn't first contact feeling, as with Status.net. May be you are right, I had a limited experience, but this is the level of attention I want to put in this instrument, I prefer to dedicate my time to other things more interesting for me!
