Drake Accuses Vancouver Casino of Racial Profiling, Fans Trash It on Social Media

After Drake claimed he was racially profiled at a Vancouver casino over the weekend, the establishment has issued a statement apologizing about the matter.

The rapper took to his Instagram Story Saturday, Nov. 3, to air out his issues with Parq Vancouver Casino.

“Parq Casino @parqvancouverbc is the worst run business I have ever witnessed…profiling me and not allowing me to gamble when I had everything they originally asked me for Bild/FotoBild/FotoBild/FotoBild/FotoBild/FotoBild/FotoBild/Foto.”

The MC was in his home country gearing up to perform at the Rogers Arena that night as part of his “Aubrey and The Three Migos” tour, which names him by his first name.

Fans took issue with the alleged incident, too. Billboard reported they torched the luxury resort on its Instagram page — which was later inexplicably pulled — and flooded their Twitter mentions with grief.

“Who would racially profile a huge celebrity?”

“Racial profiling is NEVER ‘okay’ Bild/Foto @parqvancouverbc @theprovince.

“@parqvancouverbc horrible for not letting @Drake play. Won’t be visiting for a while. Let’s just go to @riverrockcasino.”

The attention led the casino to release two statements in response.

“Parq Vancouver is sorry to hear about this experience and takes these matters very seriously,” the mid-morning statement read. “We are required to adhere to strict regulations with respect to gaming in British Columbia. We are actively investigating this matter and have made several efforts to reach out to the customer and his team to discuss the issue. We are committed to having a productive conversation to resolve this issue.”

Another statement posted that evening read, “You may be aware of a situation at our casino last night. On behalf of Parq Vancouver we would like to apologize for the experience our customer had. We are operating in one of the most complex, highly regulated industries and are always looking to better our communication and customer service. We are constantly improving our communications process to ensure that these new regulations are better understood by all guests. We categorically stand against racism of any kind. We are committed to providing a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for all.”
