Because of my job, I end up having to act globally but think locally. I generally think locally it helps to change the nature of orgs that exist through friendly participation than starting new orgs.

Starting new orgs is extremely difficult and should not be undertaken lightly. I say this as someone who has done both on global scale, but same principles apply locally.
