read TROTSKY IN NEW YORK in !fbreader
A
not-too-terrible pop history of Trotsky's winter and spring of 1917 in
New York (and an internment camp in Halifax.) Faults? The author's blasé
acceptance of the slander of Parvus' financing the Bolsheviks having
the party coffers full in the summer of
1917 when they were actually surviving hand-to-mouth, as it were, and
his somewhat surprising characterisation of David North's SEP as the
premier Trotskyist organisation in the US. WTF? He had North's help
writing some of this but it is evident from his text that Ackerman is
not a Trotskyist himself, of whatever variety.
