I was surprised to hear pandas doesn't support ods but does support Excel, but then I remembered just how ubiquitous Office is and how little people think about the issues. I guess Excel was a higher priority. :-/

@cstanhope@identi.ca yep. I've looked at that. The problem is there aren't really good, easy to use, maintained libraries for accessing odf, and it's easy enough to work around by writing CSV or xlsx from LO.
