What is that used for, or how do you use it?

I've noticed that I have walked away for 8+ hours and my ssh sessions have stayed open, recently. In the past I expected them to time out. Does autossh address that?

autossh addresses that, but also if you make frequent use of ssh tunnels, you know how annoying it is for them to go down. ssh tunnels / port forwarding stay open with this method... helpful, because that's part of my email setup.

This seems much more my speed than mosh.  It's far less controversial code, changes the less sensitive parts, and actually works with tunnels.

I've had a lot of problems w/ SSH multiplexing and autossh (i.e. autossh won't reconnect properly, defeating the point). SSH multiplexing would keep tunnels/etc open for you, if that's all you need.

What about everyone else's experience?
