I have ordered a Peak+ too. It is the most expensive phone I've ever purchased.

I think that people trying out the $80 ZTE Open will recieve a rude shock as everybody I know runs a relatively high-end Android phone (at least something dual-core) and have come to expect a very high standard. I have never had the $350+ it requires to get a half-way decent Android phone so I am well familiar with what low spec phones such as the ZTE Open entail. Hopefully Firefox OS is reasonably well optimised and will make the experience pull through even on such low spec hardware... Though I get the feeling that many people will unfortunately blame the software for even the slightest performance issue regardless of how impressive the optimisation efforts are.

Also, in regards to the Peak+ in Australia - I checked the frequencies before I ordered and it appears it should work.
