Just got an email telling me that my Geeksphone Peak+ will be delayed until at least mid-October because they've had to switch manufactuers of their batteries. This mean they have to put the battery from the new supplier through EU quality testing.

The email seemed quite sincere and asked for understanding and forgiveness. I've not got any reason to deny them that, yet.

Today, however, I found that the new price for the Nexus 4 is $200 (AUD? Surely not... But $200 USD is OK) which means that it is practically the first decent and somewhat affordable Android phone. The timing of this announcement stings a bit. But ultimately, I'd rather stick with my Peak+ order and show some support for FirefoxOS (technically, Boot2Gecko) and a small manufacturer.

Screwtape, lostson, axel likes this.

I agree, I am patiently waiting for a FireFoxOS to hit in the states.

It won't hit AU for a long time but we have the same network frequencies as the EU, so I can get a phone from there.

I broke the front AND the back of my Nexus 4 within a short time. My learning: glass at the front is bad enough, but glass all around is not for me.
