Personal Diaspora article

I've been in the process of writing this for several years. There's a lot to talk about, and so I've decided to split everything into two parts. The second part is coming.

Also, I recognize that this was written on Medium - I would've just put a full copy on The Free Network (and may for @We Distribute ), but the content is too long to really cram into a stream.

Planting a Seed: Diaspora’s Story (Part 1) — Anti fiction

Diaspora* means something very important to me. It’s the first job that gave me real experience in working at a start-up. It’s also the first job that allowed me to participate in an Open Source project that I remain passionate about to this day.

In a lot of ways, this job was a dream come true; it was a byproduct of a thousand wishes about wanting to somehow be part of a big project that I believed in. This is a story about the things I learned while working there, and how it ended up changing me as a person.

Thank you for reading it! The decentralized web continues to be an intensely personal subject for me, and I hope to make meaningful contributions to it in my own small way moving forward. :)
