I was typing the above commands from bad memory ... restart and service name reversed. :/
Actually I did stop/start rather than restart because in past restart didn't succeed with one of the services. Probably user error on my init scripts.
Also, all of the service restart stuff requires sudo.
I guess it'd be "hackily" but could be all wrapped up in a shell script that looks for available tags and proceeds from there, dumping output in a logfile if needed for debugging.
