I don't think an offhand comment on a panel indicates the day has come, but a good if small sign anyway.
@lnxwalt but Microsoft does provide the four freedoms to people who use its software. You must mean all of its software, or its software that it collects USD billions of rents annually on. :) I can think of a scenario where it does, but it's a scenario where it isn't possible to have a big software business otherwise -- unless you're only selling to private entities who only do unregulated activities -- and there probably aren't many big software businesses that would become non-big if selling only to such customers.
