Computer vendors that pre-install Debian

Mike Linksvayer at

I've complained various times that distro and desktop enivronment web sites don't tell people where to buy devices with the software preinstalled.

But I just noticed that Debian actually does https://www.debian.org/distrib/pre-installed listing vendors in many different jurisdictions.

Most of the vendors are very small time with terrible websites, but it's a start, and it's linked from the footer on most pages on debian.org. I just sent the listed contact a note about one link now pointing to a splog, and another one to ThinkPenguin about getting themselves listed.

Pertinent to the last time I complained -- https://microca.st/johns/note/W_qzQAfBSUCiUn9qYE55Ew  -- https://www.debian.org/consultants/  also exists.

I've looked for a Japan source but haven't yet found one. :-/

Perhaps an opportunity for some talented web design volunteers to offer their help.

@jrobertson I tend to think the bad websites are more a symptom of the vendors being small time than a cause -- large vendors often have bad websites too, but in a different way. Maybe some volunteer help in exchange they release everything on their sites under CC-BY-SA and provide (nearly always missing) info about what if any proprietary drivers their systems require.

Also, it may turn out that the https://www.debian.org/distrib/pre-installed isn't super well maintained. I hope I'm not being too annoying in asking about that -- https://lists.debian.org/debian-www/2015/05/msg00036.html
