This is kind of a word-length-vs-clarity question. I'm not
interested in debates about the term "open source" vs "FOSS" or the
other alternatives. I think those questions are important, but I
can't deal with them here. And in any case, the project in question
is one that deals with OpenType support in permissively-licensed
and in copyleft works.
Unfortunately, "OpenType" already starts with one of our generic
keywords, which makes for trouble. And 'openopentype' sounded more
like a protest movement against the OpenType spec (which is
actually open, BTW).
(and, of course, there's already a "freetype", so "freeopentype"
& related permutations are also confusing)
As you may know. Gitorious is shutting down. So you'll have to host it yourself or hand it over to Gitlab, maybe. Does that help the naming problem? ;)
I actually put it on GitHub in the end?I didn't want that to
distract people from the naming question. Reality is that, wherever
it's hosted, we'd need a GitHub mirror for visibility.
