Today I experimented a little with Vagrant, creating a box that, on provision, downloads and installs the CNTLM proxy (allows Linux boxes to talk with a Windows proxy) and updates the installed software. It felt quite clean.

We could bridge the gap between the infrastructure team building a server somehow and running scripts to install stuff and tweak things, then giving it to us to set up web apps. It'd be good to have the whole set-up process in one place.
