I agree that CC's license choose is even more copyleft unfriendly than GitHub's one. Although I also had in mind another argument: the preselected license there is not copyleft friendly, implicitly pushing a lot for the default license. In the GitHub chooser there is no preselection, with the exception of left-to-right bias of course, which will affect many readers.
