Frankly, I'm pretty much a fan of the IRS. I don't think everything IRS does is right, but they've been given a weird task (why does the tax authority have to decide what orgs are charitable or not?) and I think they're doing the best they can.
My main complaint is that they don't ask for help and take public comment about issues, such as, say, the FCC does.
Yeah, the FCC ignores the comments a lot, but at least there's a process for the public to speak up.
