Alrighty then...

Our state rep had a townhall Tuesday night down at the vo-tech. That did not go so well. The cries of "stop the steal" were very, very confusing considering Donald John Trump won Ohio by a rather overwhelming margin. The anti-vaxxer sentiments and misinformation were also very strong among the crowd. I sounded darn near normal asking a question about whether or not it was possible to get support from the state to secure an AMTRAK stop-over in Ashtabula City. Unfortunately the answer was no.

City Council is planning a work session for the 30th on the homeless question. Apparently the "spirit of the moment" or zeitgeist is to be fairly cruel to the homeless in our notional downtown area. That our business leaders would go down this road is just not something I would have expected. That three purported ministers of the gospel would be involved in such efforts truly bothers me.

Everybody hoped for 2021 to be a better year than 2020. So far it is turning into a second season of the madness with new characters and new plot lines. The disaster in Afghanistan did not need to happen. The situation with the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 did not need to happen. POTUS threatening action by federal authorities against recalcitrant state authorities might help bringing us a sequel to the idiocy from January at the rate we're going.

Campaign? What campaign? I don't know about no stinking campaign...
