Situational Update

This was prepared utilizing LaTeX2e.[1] This allows me, in pertinent part, to go ahead and convert it to several formats. The original file will likely be lodged in a Gopher-based space while cross-posts can be made to Identica and other locations. The tool known as pandoc is good for powering actions like this.[2]

I remain on furlough from my normal employment. Frankly I am unsure if I will be called to return. While my expectation is to be recalled to duty within 12 weeks, I always have my fears that the call will not come. Due to expansions in the “span of control” for managers as well as shifts in responsibility, several managers have been demoted all the way down to being line staff like myself. The batch of new hires that are soon posting to random fora seem to be slipping past the expected start date.

Class continues at Lakeland Community College. My sleep has been screwy since that’s all I have as well as mission work at the nursing home. Not having to get up at a defined time in the morning means my sleep time is a bit unfocused. I have a mid-term examination to take this. The degree should be done by December.[3]

My brain feels better. There are far, far fewer headaches. That means I am not stressing out as badly as I was. Then again, people were having cardiac infarctions due to the stress at work. A little bit of psychiatric stress is nothing in comparison.

Life seems to have a lack of direction at the moment. The big goal is to finish things off at Lakeland. I have to find a new job expeditiously as returning to my current job is not beneficial. The search has not turned up many plausible possibilities that I can make work, so far.

Autumn is not a time of certainties, I suppose.
