There isn't enough money in the economy to fund single-payer/Medicare For All and then fund anything else at the federal level. Assuming that the USD$32.6 trillion is a steady cost, that would be USD$3.26 trillion per year. The federal budget in the aggregate generally weighs in lately at almost $4 trillion dollars. Even if we went to almost confiscatory rates at the federal level & left nothing for state/local tiers in our federal republic, there still wouldn't be enough money to feed the beast if single-payer were added in as currently proposed.


Sometimes working at the pointy end of the spear for the feds can be a bad thing. I wind up unable to plead ignorance on far too much.
