So we have a preprint entitled SARS-CoV-2 infects human adipose tissue and elicits an inflammatory response consistent with severe COVID-19. That bit from October prompted today's article in the New York Times entitled The Coronavirus Attacks Fat Tissue, Scientists Find. In short, the more excess pounds you pack on the more SARS-CoV-2 may longer. There may be a correlation between obesity and "Long COVID" though causation isn't proven yet.

Considering I have to go see the doctor for screening about Long COVID this is certainly of interest. If it means I have still further weight loss to undertake then that will be a difficult road to look at. Before I left the IRS I weighed in at 245 pounds. When I got COVID-19 back in October I weighed in at 186 pounds. That was a weight loss of 59 pounds over two years. I can't presume what she'll say in our appointment but further weight loss may be advised. Her goal at my height already was to get me down to around 160 pounds so that may be assuming a greater priority.
