Oh shit, if this was a paper filing it should've been destroyed already and not even on retention register: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39275838

"Donald Trump tax: Leaked 2005 document angers White House "

Even worse, somebody at the Submission Processing unit at the Kansas City (MO) Service Center had to have held on to this for literally years. This shouldn't have even been in the files today. Somebody needs to be nailed to the wall and prosecuted to the fullest extent of 26 USC 7213A & 26 USC 7213. Maddow's 1st Amendment claim will probably not shield her on this and, with luck, she's going to go to jail for a while.

In a statement issued before the broadcast, the White House said: "You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago."

Isn't it illegal for clerks to release the information, but legal for others to publish it?

Anyway, for Swedish people this is all confusing, because the tax office prints a booklet every year with everybody's tax over a certain level. :-)
