If I ever get the real estate issues fixed I am likely going to be putting Tiny Core Linux on the RPi B just to have something other than Raspbian running. The minimalism is interesting. Making it field-deployable would be even more interesting...

That was me. :-) On my old VPS with 128MB i ran a Debian with runit for init, sysklogd for syslog, dropbear for sshd and dash for shell. It went from unusable to pretty decent for small services.
If I were to do it again I would probably do it with s6 instead of runit. I'm working on getting s6 into guix and I love the ideas behind execline.
