I've decided to continue using StatusNet at http://micro.fragdev.com/anarchyx. It seems cool so far, there are some familiar groups and the max character length is over 1000. However there's no HTTPS and you have to e-mail the maintainer but he replied quickly with an invite. :)
From now on I'll try to post to both sites. :)
