sure.
Evolution is not a fact, it's a theory, and one that has less and less basis in science all the time. the scientific method for proving fact is that the same experiment will have the same results every time. Evolution was never proven, and continues to be disproved regularly. If evolution was a scientific fact, you could take the "soup of life" and create a single cell organism in a beaker any time you wished.
It's true that the origins of life are not known. The primordial soup theory is a lot more complex than soup in a beaker though. There are a number of theories. Nobody knows. The soup theory is the most popular in science fiction, but isn't even well agreed upon as that basis.
But anyway, evolution is a process, and could happen after a variety of instantiations, even something more spontaneous.
