I've reached out in the past... it looked like Diaspora was going to adopt it, but I'm afraid that dream may be over for now.

@Kevin Everets My impression from talking ot the one person actively pushing for ActivityPub in Diaspora was that a few contributors pretty much made the decision to keep evolving their own federation protocol without much community dialogue... too bad, because they made backwards incompatible changes IIUC anyway...
