Showed a friend the MediaGoblin campaign videos I animated. I'm still proud of those (though I can't miss the glaring flaws every time)

@Alex Jordan Thanks for your compliments! The old one is still up, though I guess no longer on the site.
@Jason Self I appreciate that! The first video definitely had huge audio problems, which I did my best to cover up, but which are noticable still. The second had a few points where my voice was "swallowed" by the music as well. There are other things... the timing on the eye animation in the second video could be a lot better. But I'm still an amateur, and there's limited time. The things I asked for feedback on, got useful feedback on, then never had the chance to change are the most embarrassing points for me, because I know others could identify them. But I still think that all considered, things went well, I'm still more proud of it than I am sensitive to the flaws.
And watching the first and the second side by side, it's obvious that the second was a big improvement and that I had learned a lot!
I still need to upload all the complete and corresponding source for those videos to archive.org. Still glaring at me from my orgmode agenda...

@Claes Wallin (韋嘉誠) Yes, afaik it's the first example I know of it. The design came out of a conversation with Fateh of http://urchn.org/ fame (Bassam and Fateh of Urchn guided me greatly in the production of those animations, and Fateh also contributed a bunch of ideas to the second animation).
It's probably just zeitgeist, but I do feel like a lot of the ideas we put into the animation have become pretty common in the anti-surveillance materials that are out there. Shortly after the MediaGoblin video first came out, the Internet Defense League also used the "cat massacre" idea, though I think that idea could be easily reinvented.
