Cry Macho

So we know that Clint Eastwood can direct and Cry Macho is visually good to look at. As they say, Eastwood is more of a traditional-style director and so we get wider shots and moments to take in the scene, which is actually the style of cinematography I prefer.

However, it falls apart at the screenplay and dialogue level. The series of scenes doesn't quite flow and there are a few moments in the dialogue and performance that made me cringe.

If you segment out the scenes, it's great! So sip some Mai Tais throughout to dull your senses trying to make sense of the screenplay but take in the captured moments. 2 Mai Tais throughout should do it.

Clint Eastwood is so old!

Also, a sign of the times: Covid Compliance Officer in the end credits.
